1 HCG Protocol

Phase 1-Preparation

Make an appointment with Dr. Aceves at 766-1244 to discuss beginning the HCG protocol. You will need to discuss with Dr. Aceves the length of time you will be on the diet. Each “round” is a minimum of 23 days (up to 40 days) depending on your personal goals. Each round is 2500 pesos (paid to Dr. Aceves) and includes doctor consultations, HCG substances, the support group and meetings. (Support group is highly recommended, 1:00 every Thursday location to be announced). If you decide to do additional rounds on the HCG diet, the additional rounds are also 2500 pesos. If you choose to do the 40 days, the cost is $3500 pesos.

The key to having success on this diet, is understanding the protocol and how it works. Please read over the materials including Dr. Simeons’ book and the HCG protocol. There is a wealth of information in these pages. We also have  links to other worldwide support groups that may help you find interesting information that helps your success on this diet.

Phase 2- Fat Burning 
This is the low calorie phase (500 calories/day of specific approved foods) and lasts between 23 and 40 days depending on your weight loss goal.  Remember, your body is releasing approximately 1500 to 2000 calories of mobilized fat each day, which your body is consuming. It is very important that you eat the specifically approved foods so your body does not go into starvation mode. It is equally important that you drink at least 2 liters of water per day. Please see our helpful hints section on this website. The specifically approved foods are listed below.

Day 1 and 2 on HCG you do NOT diet,  you start taking the HCG, because it takes 2 days for the HCG to metabolize into the body.  You may eat normally, but loading is recommended.  Be sure to eat foods higher in fat and include any food you think you will miss during the next 23 to 40 days.  The reason for loading is that this re-stocks the superficial fat stores.  (Many of us have discovered we are less hungry during the first week of the low calorie diet if we loading, we eat foods containing fats rather then starches or sugars.)

Day 3 to day 23 (or more).
You begin the restrictive diet on day 3.  Strict adherence to the 500 calories per day and eating only permitted foods is essential to your success. Most people will have little to no hunger during the diet. Some people do experience hunger the first 2 days while their body is adjusting. If you experience hunger, Miracle Noodles are a free food and can be eaten with your meals and are excellent in giving you a more full feeling. Most people can only eat half a package!

If you are working full time, exercising a lot, or experiencing fatigue or extreme hunger, please see Dr. Aceves or Lauri Jenson for other options regarding this diet. This is extremely important.

Most people lose ½ to 1 pound or more daily as the HCG causes the body to mobilize 1500 to 2000 calories from your body’s reserve fat storage.

Weigh daily in the morning after emptying the bladder.
You will continue the 500 calorie diet 2-3 days after stopping the injections to allow the HCG to metabolize out of the body.  Even if you only need to lose 5-10 lb, you must continue for at least 23 days, as the hypothalamus takes 3 weeks to regain its normal functioning.

Food Guide
Breakfast: Coffee or tea in any amount. No sugar allowed, recommended stevia as a sweetener. Only 1 tabelspoon of milk allowed per day, many use this with their coffee in the am. (If you desire a breakfast, there are recommendations below and in helpful hints).

Lunch: One protein (3.5 oz. or 100 grams) and one fresh or cooked vegetable.

Dinner: One protein (3.5 oz. or 100 grams) and one fresh or cooked vegetable.

Snacks: 2 portions of fruit (6 hours apart)
2 portions of Melba toast (only 30 calories per serving)
(a snack can also be used for breakfast if you choose)

Fluids: A minimum of 2 liters of water daily (Label 2 liter bottles 1 and 2 in order to keep track). Coffee, tea, herbal tea in any amount, mineral water.

Green tea before 1PM is highly recommended. Mexican Jamaica tea is non-caffeinated and lessens water retention.

Protein Foods:

3 1/2 oz. (100 grams) Twice daily (lunch and dinner)

  • Veal or steak (very lean)
  • Chicken breast (skinless, boneless)
  • Fresh white fish
  • Shellfish – shrimp, scallops, real crab, lobster
  • If desired 1 or 2 times weekly only 1 whole egg plus 3 egg whites or 100 gr. Nonfat cottage cheese
  • Canned tuna, WATER PACKED, 3 oz only, because its cooked

Note: Choose lean cuts, remove all visible fat before cooking, weigh food raw. IT MUST BE COOKED WITHOUT FAT.  No turkey, salmon,  sardines, eel, herring, dried or smoked fish.

Fresh vegetable: 2 large handfuls (approximately 2 cups) per meal

  • Spinach
  • Chard, chicory, beet greens, any lettuce, fennel
  • Tomato
  • Celery,
  • Onion,
  • red radish
  • cucumber
  • Asparagus
  • Cabbage.

Fruit: 2 portions daily at least 6 hours apart.  May be taken at breakfast
Breakfast idea; chop on serving apple, put in sauce pan with water,              stevia and cinnamon. Cook for 5 minutes and searve. Great warm breakfast.

  • Large apple
  • Orange
  • Handful of strawberries
  • ½ grapefruit

Starch: 2 daily (30 calories or less per serving)  Read labels

Grisini Breadsticks
Melba toast
Kavli crisp bread (or other crisp bread)

Allowed extras:
One tablespoon milk allowed each 24 hours
Stevia, a natural no calorie sweetener (see chart below)
Juice of 1 lime daily
Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar
Any vinegar that doesn’t contain sugar
Braggs Liquid Aminos (similar to soy sauce)
Sea salt
Pepper
Mustard or mustard powder
Garlic, basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, cinnamon
Spices as long as they do not contain oil, sugars, MSG, corn starch, etc.
1 tablespoon of chopped onion or garlic can be added while cooking meals

If you want to substitute with Stevia, the chart below helps you convert from sugar and other none-recommended sweeteners to Stevia.
In general terms, most packet sweeteners are equal to each other or to two teaspoons of sugar. Stevia is sweeter so check on the box to verify.

HCG BODY FRIENDLY PRODUCTS
Dr. Simeons found that using cream or oil based body products slowed down weight loss.
To be successful you need to use only non cream and non oil based beauty products.  Read the labels on your current body and facial cream. Many of your products will be just fine. If it says glycerin,  or mineral oil, then go ahead and use them. If it says Shea Butter, oil; almond, olive, lemon, etc, then you can decide to stay away from this product,  just while you are on the strict part of the protocol. But this is your decision.

Here are some suggestions for HCG friendly body products and where they can be purchased.

    • No, it has calories and is full of sugar. Stevia is the only allowed sweetener.

    • Please come to our weekly newbie meetings for one on one information on the HCG diet, Fridays at 10:00am. And if you have already been to Dr, Aceves and have started the diet, part of his program is the weekly support meetings at 1:00. Bith meetings are held at “60’s in Paradise” #10 Hidalgo. We share all kinds of tips, recipes, and information at these meetings. It is fun and very motivating! This is also where you can buy HCG meals or eat HCG prepared food.

  4. Could someone please bring 13 bags of the noodles to the meeting on Thursday. If possible could three of them be the seaweed. These are for Vicky & Pete.

    It is right on the carretarra. It is across the street from El Torito grocery store, on the mountain side of the carretarra. It is almost next to Telmex.
